My Lucida`s rear lights are not working

For sometime the amber warning light was on showing a bulb failure but all the lights were ok

Then last week I noticed that when I applied the brakes the dashboard lights would come on and also the side lights

The brake lights still work can you tell me what the problem might be and how much it would cost to put right

Not sure but I can tell you the sensor for the lights is behind the drivers side panel roughly between the 2 rear seats

I had a similar problem on a freinds Fiesta. Have you replaced any bulbs?

Check the double filament bulbs out (such as a break light) the 2 filaments may be touching, so when you press the brakes the power flows to the brake filament into the other filament (side lights) and powers up, in reverse, the side lights including your dash.

Potential fix cost £1:50!! for a new bulb.

Hope this is what it is. Please let me know.

Ed.

Thanks every one that replied to my notice

I have found the problem now it seems to be a wiring fault no live to the rear

In the near side rear lamp panel there are two wires attached to the body Live and Earth I bridged across from this point and my lights now work so it seams that part of the harness is broken. :D
