Rav4 Rear Differential

Hi All!

I have a 2003 rav4 vx (from new) and have always noticed that after a long motorway run there is a growling/grinding noise from the rear axel when accelarating from rest and cornering at the same time.

The noise disappears as soon as the car has cooled down.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hello,

I've just collected my Rav from the Garage today, took it in with a similar problem.

Turned out to be the Exhaust just knocking on the rear steps mounting bracket, as they found a small rub on both.

They've ground the bracket back a tad and its gone now.

Hopefully this will help you too?
