Usa Fix For 03 Corolla Noise..

Hi Everyone; just picked up my 03 Corolla from the dealer and the Creaking noise from rear deck area has been fixed. The dealer had a TSB(Technical Service Buletin) for the fix. It has nothing to do with the plastic cover but has to do with the rear glass and some kind of metal clips that were used when they installed the glass at the factory. The service person said that they pulled out these clips and it stops the noise. It was more noticeable in the morning when the car was cooler from sitting over night in the garage, so I will see tomorrow morning if the fix is permanent. They are also replacing the weather stripping on the rear doors (actually the weather stripping where the door closes onto the body) as when it gets warm, the weather stripping pulls away from the body. If the fix is not permanent, I will report back tomorrow.

I had a knocking/tapping noise when going over bumps ets from the rear of my Corolla. I padded out the tool tray under the floor, including under the tray. I noticed it had a small amount of "give" in the tray, thus knocking against the body. Now no noise!. Thanks to the forum for that tip!.
