Yts 40k Service

Hi,

Just put my car in for its 40K service this morning and the dealer has phoned back to tell me that the brake fluid needs changing. I have a hunch that this is supposed to be changed at this service anyway, and should, therefore, be included in the quoted price. As they also have my service book at the moment, I can't check for myself but I know you guys will be able to let me know before I fork out the extra £50 that they are going to throw on to the £180 bill.

My booklet says that at Full H&S services (every 20k), the brake fluid is inspected. It's not clear whether you pay or they pay if it needs replacing! That's on page 21 of the Service & Warranty booklet. On page 22, under Additional Replacements it says Brake fluid - every 2 years. Again, not clear who's liable for cost.

So hopefully I've half-cleared that up! I have a sneaky suspicion sadly that you have to pay... unless Toyota are more generous than Peugeot ever were!

As expected it got added to the bill (£220 in total) but they did change a bulb for free which is more than I expected from a main dealer.
