Yaris Diesel Fault

Having purchased a Yaris Veros in 2003, I was initially very pleased. However, my local dealer has struggled to rectify a series of faults.

Replaced to date - fuel injector pump and the common rail (with pressure regulators).

My main complaint is that the dealer has taken so long to diagose problems.

The car today is due to go in a gain to have the electronic control unit (computer), replaced.

This has presented a problem of surging, and decreased fuel consumption.

I shall wait and see if this is the genuine problem.

With one year left on the guarantee, I shall keep a very close eye on the car.

Having had second hand Toyotas, which had few problems, my impression of Toyoya is now very poor. The service from the dealer is lacking, and at no time have I had any contact from Toyota GB.

Interestingly, the dealer used to be Rover, and still does service Rover - old habits die hard!

I intend to send them a letter.

Although the car was assembled in Japan, the engine was made in The UK. Perhaps British industry still has the old fashioned attititudes to quality, that it has suffered for many years.

It would be interesting if anyone else has opinions on Japanese Toyotos versus European Toyots.

Regrettably, my next car will not be a Toyota.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Me neither.. Happy as Larry (whoever he is) with mine and the one before it.

Can I suggest trying a different dealer?

Hope its sorted soon,

Alan
