SUMMARY

Driving distance: 221.4 miles

Trip duration: 3 hours, 14 minutes

Driving time: 3 hours, 14 minutes

Cost: £30.21

This is based on driving at average speeds.. whatever that is.. and fuel costs based at 0.85p per litre and 31 miles per gallon on mtorways.

Remember to give yourselves plenty of time for roadworks (there was a lot on my way to Hull yesterday, and it took me 5 hours to get there)

I know 6.am is an early rise.. but it will let you all take your time and you should be able to have a pit stop (depending on traffic etc) on the way down.

See the others section for meet times.

Hop this helps you guys.

you won't get lost... really easy..... i presume you know how to get onto the M74 southbound...... so.....

07:37 114.7 At Exit 40, keep LEFT onto Ramp 0.2 mi A66 / Penrith / Keswick / Brough

07:38 114.9 At roundabout, take the SECOND exit onto A66 49.6 mi

08:25 164.5 At roundabout, take the THIRD exit onto Scotch Corner 0.4 mi A1 / The South / Wetherby

08:26 164.9 Merge onto A1 22.3 mi

the M74 changes to the M6 at Carlise.. then the exit for Penrith (J40.. A66), from there it's a straight road accross the country to Scotch Corner.. at the roundabout at the services.. turn on the the A1. follow the signs for A1 and look for (M62) to Hull, at this exit there is a roundabout.. 1st exit = Ferry Bridge services. Come out of the services, back onto the A1 south.. and we will be on our way.

I just prefer the A66 since most of it was upgraded to dual carraigeway.. quickest way too i feel. barring roadworks.
