Surely the reason that the british like all these 'other' nations offerings is because we either conquered them or colonised them in the past?

yea but ye can`t get over the fact that ye have come up with the comcept of most of the worlds great sports :thumbsup: BUT the problen is that all the countrys ye as matt say "owned" are better at them :lol: apart from the recent fluke in the rugby, its being awhile. but ye keep at it gota respect ye for that :thumbsup:

it is strange - since the whole point of britian is, England, Wales and Scotland... otherwise we'd be talking about being English, not british!

I think its just people being idiots...

No northern irish? lol

Apparently, we do actually "own" at a sport.

It's the World Toe wrestling championships, held in Derbyshire, and we invented the sport!

being english means watching the scots, welsh, and northern irish proudly proclaim to be such, and not british, and get their own government, and language.

being english means accepting this view, but at the same time not adopting it ourselves. :P

My wife and I went into London for the day yesterday and were using the re-opened section of the Picadilly Line from Kings Cross.

It's OK to be nervous, but doing little things like this and subconsciously dedicating our action to those injured or killed is part of being British.
