Mitsubishi Fto

I have been thinking of looking at an FTO (probably a GPX 2.0 MIVEC V6). What do you's think. I have been told not to look at a heavly modified car or a car with wheels bigger than 17" other than that not too sure what to look out for. It will be a big step from a 1.0 Yaris to a 2.0 FTO.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Mark.

as long as u arnt stupid you wil be fine with the power upgrade

i went from a 1.2 8v to a 2.0 16v, common sense is the main part.

also, you should find out basic 'get out of trouble' info, eg, handling oversteer, braking (if no abs), if you dont know these bits... in case you get into a situation like it (on private land of course)

Watch out for gearbox gremlins if you get a tiptronic. They`re horrendously expensive to diagnose and repair. :(

Nice little cars, a sort of junior Supra maybe. Go round corners very nicely, but no electronic help so watch out in the wet.

My mate had one for a while. Looked good, auto box is ok.

If you can afford or find one, get the Version R manual.

Manual better than tiptronic/auto box... but rarer to find.

Friend has one... need to keep the revs up to make the most of it. Don't just think because it's got a V6 that it'll have plenty of torque.

Nice cars. I like them. One thing that put me off was them being front wheel drive.

There was one in one of the jap mags recently, and the fella who owned it had a VR4 lump from a 3000GT dropped into it. Tasty!

Jaxx... never a truer word was said! ;)

As for the power hike... I'd not worry... I went from a 1.3 MG metro to a 2.5 twi turbo soarer at 17............ I have never looked back from RWD since!!!
