Hi

The car:- Avenis 2002 {52 plate} model D4D cdx

Looking at my rear brake pads, they look like they need changing this year, do i need any special tools to wind in the piston into the caliper or will they just push in

Thanks in advance for any help or advice :-)

When I did mine I didnt bother removing the handbrake cable. I just undid the caliper guide bolts and wiggled it for ages until eventually it came off. I used a set of long nosed pliers to wind the piston back, it occasionally slips but if you keep pressure on its pretty easy, and dont forget to take the cap of the fluid reservoir.

You can get a special piston wind back tool but I also found long nose pliers did the trick fine. Make sure they are long though because you need the leverage, and make sure the grooves in the piston line up with the protrusion on the inner pad backing.
