'clunk' Noise When Turning Wheel

Hello,

I am hoping that someone might be able to help me with this one.

I have a 2002 Corlla 2.0 d-4d . When I have been parked up and turn the wheel from standing with both break and clutch in I get a loud 'clunk' noise, it also occurs when turning right where the turn is up a hill or incline. It is not consistent but seems to have something to do with either the break or clutch being applied.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything like this ?

Any advise greatly appreciated

AndyBee,

If the noise is only when you set off after having been parked up, the I would suggest that it's just the ABS system going through it's self test. If you look in your manual there is some info about it.

Cheers,

Rinko.

Cheers for your reply

Yes it does seem to happen mostly on start up but also when stopped at junctions so it does seem the most logical reason.

thanks again

Hrrm - I've never had it happen to me at a junction ... only ever when starting and moving off at the beginning of a journey.

Perhaps if it's happening at junctions it may be something else ?
