Carina Mobiliser Trouble

I have an M reg Carina that I purchased last summer. It has been a good car but I now have a problem. The Battery discharged because an interior light was left on plus while I was away on holiday, my house watcher advised that the vehicle alarm sounded for two days before stopping. When I returned, I figured I needed to recharge the Battery but when I hooked up the charger, the alarm came on again but I am unable to start the car.

I’ve looked through many postings and most say this vehicle came with a key fob, which mine didn’t. Is there a way to reset the alarm/immobiliser without a fob? The owner’s manual doesn’t even mention that the vehicle has an immobiliser. Help!!!!

One thing to try is take of the earth lead and leave it of for about 10 minutes then touch the - pole 3 or 4 times this may reset it for you. worked on my mr2.
