Ipod Nano - Loosing Space.

I've got a 1GB ipod Nano with Itunes 7.

Recently updated the firmware to 1.3 & now i'm losing space on the Ipod. Itunes say the capacity is now 892.5mb WTF????

Tried formatting it but i dunno whats wrong with the damn thing

I have no idea about ipods as I've never and will never own one but when a manufacturer quotes storage space they make the rather stupid assumption that 1GB = 1000MB when it doesn't. So we can immediately drop down the capacity of a nano to around 976MB. Unfortunately you are still missing just shy of 80MB of space which I can't explain. Perhaps Apple have reserved some space of the device as a buffer for firware updates and additional tools etc.

Oh well, i reformatted it to the Mac HFS Plus & it brought it back up to 950.

hey ho - might look at investing in a 30gb ipod now :)
