most people say AdAware is one of the better free ones.

Ad-Aware is great... as is AVG Anti-Spyware....

windows defender

hijackthis - for slightly more advanced computer users

bit defender

norton anti virus

cCleaner

i think all of the above are good programs. i find some programs dont remove all the malware, spyware, adware etc so i have a few running to ensure nothing gets through. all of the above are free. im slightly paranoid as i have a new computer hence the excessive protection

I had AVG anti-virus and liked it , didnt realise they had an anti-spyware !
