I find this whole carbon footprint questionnaire fatally flawed.

At no time during the questions does it ask if you are an habitual arsonist !

Interestingly enough, I heard an interview with Patrick Moore on the radio the other day.

He mentioned Global warming and dismissed it as spin and scaremongering.

It's a cyclic thing that happens throughout the ages. It can't be avoided.

He also pointed out that, currently, Mars is in a state of Global warming. Not too many cars, factories, airplanes and power plants there as far as I know !

But what about the Martians?

I thought that, but I don't own a tumble dryer or dishwasher and I use my washing machine at 30º 4 days a week. And I never leave my appliances on standby.

Earth Killer!

me? never... where did my halo get too?

worrying thing is that it doesn't ask about say... hair straightners, hair dryer, mobile phone chargers, ps2's or ds lites for example!

the amount of electrical stuff ive got is quite scary when i think about it...

Did the household test for a laugh......

home : 10.2

appliances : 5.39

transport : 27.77

Total : 43.18

Whoops, suppose there's a few trees in the garden to neutralize the carbon!

Surely if they are concerned about carbon footprints they'd make it a quick affair - rather than 2 minutes a page - so people didn't have to spend excessive amounts of time on their PCs, running up leccy bills to fill in a form !

In the meantime please check back and try again - it's only more electricity after all!

Amateurs

My sentiments entirely! Well said!

Don't even get me started on the carbon footprint of politicians. Look at Blair's "farewell tour". Hypocrites!

Was there global warming during the industrial revolution?

Personally, as a 'sciencey' person, I think Jimlad's great granddaughter might have a planet to live on after all.

I'm saving the planet for some of you!

Mind you, not convinced this laptop uses less energy than some PCs I've seen!

I frankly can't be bothered to work out what my Carbon footprint is, although simple household economics ensures it's fairly low.

In tonnes it's certainly lower than the tonnage of bulls**t that we're fed about it !
