Hi, I just bought the 2007 3D 4D4.

Does this engine have self-adjusting valves?

If not how often should they be adjusted?

Where can I buy the service Manual?

Thanks

Why would you worry about this.... it is under warranty until 2010 so forget it

To Filko1, I had allways assumed this engine to have a cam bucket & shim set up with exhaust valve having a clearance of 0.50mm from cold. This resulting in the clattering sound that a lot of owners seem to be familiar with, if you read down through postings. If its changed to hydraulic tappets then you have no adjustments to make. But my info is showing valve clearances should be checked at 24,000miles, which is odd as pointed out above if hydraulic then no adjustment required. I have just re shimmed a 2ltr D4D following head off job due to broken glow plugs in head. See what other people have to say, they may have had reason to pull head off on one of these engines & can confirm for certain. All the best.
