Japanese Comands On Navi/stereo Nh3t-w55 (rav 4 2006 New Model)

I live in Africa and my car (RAV 4 2006 new model) was imported directly form Japan. Now I have troubles with my navigator/audio system since I do not speak Japanese yet :donatello:

I do not know if it is the model but on the screen it is written NH3T-W55.

Does anyyone know if it is possible to change the language form Japanese into English? If not what else can be done? Does anyone have a manual for this unit (written in english)?

Grazie mille!

Send a PM to Parts-King, he might had a manual for your unit

Don't know how much postage he would charge!:lol:

Is there not an significant issue with jap import audio units? Something to do with the frequency ranges?

Recall this from my HondaSUV forum days and also seems to be a common item on eBay ...."bought import, Radio not working in the country, any offers" etc.

Do a bit of investigation to check the unit will work in your country before you spend money on manuals just in case!

This is a very brief synopsis of the unit ....

"HDD 30 GB, 7.0-wide EGA, DVD video, DVD-R/RW respond, CD-R/RW compatible, MD / MDLP respond, AM / FM, TV 40W × 4, MP3 compatible, WMA support, virtual surround 5.1 ch , Memory Stick, HDD recording, touch panel operation, audio operation, VICS (FM multiplex)"

It is exactly the unit I have in my car. And as you can see from the picture it is a bit difficult to use it if you do not speak Japanese.... :crybaby:

The issue with the FM band is also true but I would not mind if at least I could use the rest of the unit.

Do you know how I could contact Toyota in Japan?

Thanks for your help!

goto toyota.jp and find an email address would be my suggestion.

Why not just play around with the controls and see what happens!

DVD region in Japan is Region 1 I think, like in USA, so when it comes to playing DVDs, try it out with a region free or a US DVD (believe Africa is Region 2 like Europe?).

On the TV side, prob not worth trying - Uganda I am sure uses PAL and Japan uses NTSCT and the two are not compatible.

MP3s and music should be fine though :)
