Hi. I wonder if anyone can help with or has experienced the following problem that I have with a Y Reg Avensis 1.8.

The car was driving normally until the engine cut out while going around a corner and it will not restart. With the vehicle having been recovered to a garage there is no engine management light coming on when the ignition is turned on as I would expect.

The process on Autodata has been followed regarding bridging pins 4 and 13 to get the blink codes. The EML is also not coming on when this is done, just the ABS and airbag lights are blinking constantly. I am assuming this means that there are no faults stored but do not understand why the EML is not coming on.

Does this sound like the ECU has failed or is there another fault that could be causing this.

Any help or advice on what to try next would be greatly appreciated.
