Rav4 Engine Hesitation Help

I have a 2006 Rav4 with 31000 miles on it. It has driven great until a few hundred miles ago.

I changed the air filter and oil was changed. Now it hesitates when I start, and stumbles

when I take my foot off the accelerator. Could it be a bad fuel filter? I have changed the

brand fuel I was using, but didn't seem to help any. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Hoochie and welcome to the club.

The problem is that our models are somewhat different to yours. You must have either the 2.4VVTi or V6 petrol.

Unless you have interfered with the fuel filter I don't think it will be that but if you are sure it only did since you changed the air filter have a really good look to see if you disturbed any vacuum pipes or the plug for the air flow meter. If there are no obvious faults then start by changing the spark plugs.

You could have a quick search on the US owners club;

By all means come back with any further questions.

Regards

sounds to me as if theres an air leak on the inlet side - sure you got the air filter assembly put back together properly?? As anchorman says, check you haven't loosened any wires to the sensors.
