I just bought Aygo music with 6 Speakers included and also bought the subwoofer (orginal). Anyone have an opinon how well it sound?

Hello and welcome to TOC

As far as I know the "Music" edition is not sold in U.K......................maybe it is just for the Scandanavian market.

The "Music" is also sold in Belgium, which is NOT Scandinavia :D

As for the subwoofer; I haven't heard it myself, but from what I've read

and heard from others it's WAY overpriced ad WAY underpowered...

You'd be better off with an aftermarket sub, both on price and sound.

And since it IS aftermarket you WILL be able to connect it to the stock radio...

There's been quite some topics on that too, like this one

I have a Pioneer TS-WX11A in my car, which only cost me €169 including

shipping from Germany to The Netherlands and I fitted it myself in less

than half a day, while ding some other projects...

I had an alpine 1600 sub behind the passenger seat of my old smart roadster, fitted in ok and sounded great...just a wee alternative to consider.

Ok thanks ! I look into that too.

My Aygo is due to in September so I'll just hear it out first with the original subwoofer. Maybe it will be enough for my needs. I certainly hope so cus it's a lot money spent.

Ok so I have now ordered the Pioneer TS-WX11A. Will it work fine with the original headunit?? Do I have to switch to another headunit? Or will the original be able to work with this sub? I understand that the orginal unit doesn't have a connection for a sub?

Cheers!

The TS-WX11A can also be connected in parrallel with the rear Speakers and since it has a wired

remote you can setup your factory radio as you like it and then dial in the sub to your needs.

Hookup is very simple, just follow the diagram supplied with the subwoofer.

Thanks a lot Jan for all the help!!

Hopefully it will work. The trickiest bit will be to fasten it under the seat I think. Wish me luck :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok then I bought this instead TS-WX22A http://www.prisjakt.nu/bilder/bild.php?st=2&p=29141

And just to be safe a car shop is going to install it for me (1 year warranty). And the best way to place it is under the glove compartment. So the bass goes down for optimal bass said the expert.

So in the nick of time I got the orginial sub from toyota that cost 380 EUR cancelled and ordered TS-WX22A for 190 EUR and it will be installed for the 120 EUR.

Much better deal!! Hopefully?? :D

Picture will be posted :D

I'm not sure how/where they're going to mount it, but I'm

positive you got a WAY better system for less money now...

You were right they couldnt mount it under the glove comparment. The 22 is too big but the 11 version would have done it. Instead they installed it under the passenger seat. And it sounds great.

Next project will be changing the headunit and Speakers. Can get enough of upgrading it now hehe.

Glad to hear you're happy.

It IS too bad that you've chosen to go for a new head unit AFTER installing the subwoofer.

If you get a new headunit it will probably have line level outputs and possibly even a dedicated

output for a subwoofer. Connecting the sub to that output would deliver even better sound

and adjustability, but now it will be extra work to remove the tap from the speaker wires

and install an RCA-lead instead.

If you'd have gone for the HU first installation/adjustment

of the sub would have been easier from the get-go...
