Engine Management Light

I bought an 03 Avensis Verso in the summer with 63K on the clock. Since we bought it the engine management light has come on whilst driving at approx 40-50mph making the engine cut out. This happened 1st after about 3 weeks, I pulled over to the side of the road turned off the ignition and re-started the car - evrything was normal and the light was out. Then last week the same thing happened again, it has now happened 3 times in 7 days. The garage we bought it from have checked it today and can find nothing wrong with the car. Has this happened to anyone else? It is very worrying as we have two young children.
