Verso Hid Conversion? Recommended?

Hi,

We all know that the Verso lights are not the best in the world.

I've changed my bulbs to PIAA bulbs, I've manually adjusted the headlight levels a touch, but its still a bit too dark.

Has anyone got any ideas for a good replacement HB4 bulb? I've read several stories about HID conversions, are they worth it? And do I have to remove them everytime I go for a MOT? Mine is a 07/07 model. Thanks

Hi

I don't know if they have changed them but the ones on mine are superb.... best lights I've ever had on a car, lovely even spread and very good distance....

I know of several people who have fitted Hid conversions and they rant and rave about them being the best thing since sliced bread, they have had no problems with the MOT.

So go for it..... and Merry xmas

Pete

Hi,

Where did you buy your HD kits from? Can you give any more information? Did you fit them yourself or did you have them professionaly fitted?

Thanks, Steve

I too am not very pleased with the Verso headlights, the beam just seems to run over the front bumper and fall on the ground.

I have been looking for the brighter HB4 (9006) bulbs, but these seem to be a USA size and very hard to find in Europe.

BUT I have now found that the Philips Xtreme Power +80% are now available in the USA (see +80% HB4). These are the bulbs that AutoExpress were very enthousiastic about. I am thinking about ordering these. If anybody has tried them please let me know.

I have considered HIDs, but in Holland for vehicles first registered after January 2007, Headlight washers and automatic leveling are compulsory. My Verso is from March 2007 and I do not want the chance of a fine and probably a walk home.

Hope this helps.

Andy

I upgraded to the much brighter bulb (bought off Ebay) but the range is still far too short. I have been thinking about the HID kit installation, and I have had assurances from an installer that there will be no problems when it comes to the mot. But then he would say that wouldn't he!! You can get a HID kit from around £50.00 - £90.00 and if you are somewhat technically minded, you should be able to fit without any problems. I suppose the best people to ask would be Toyota themselves!!
