Just Got My Self A Toyota Lucida

hi all i new and after a little advice i have just got my self a toyota lucida 2.2 turbo diesel import looked under the hood to day and seen a tank on the right hand side of the engine that say oil is this for engin oil or gear box oil as i no ya cheek the oil under the seat but i should say in the tank its has nothing in there can any one help me thanks

That tank is an auto engine oil top up system that most early models had. It is NOT intended to fill the engine as part of an oil change. There is a little sensor in the pump that invokes the pump on that container to top up the oil when it goes below a certain level. If yours is empty either you have a major issue or someone has blocked it off at the sump. The auto transmission dipstick and engine oil dipsticks are under the passengers seat.

That tank is an auto engine oil top up system that most early models had. It is NOT intended to fill the engine as part of an oil change. thank you i will get it looked at thay dont seem to be a bad motor as this is the first one i have had yep to find out what mpg i get thanks again

What you want to concentrate on is the cooling system. It is marginal at the best of times and these cars have a very nasty habit of cracking cylinder heads.
