60ft: 2.480 - Time: 15.55 @ 91mph

absolutely shocking... the tsports are useless untill the start going... was getting owned left right and centre off the line but when running i was pulling it back...

first to second is aweful as lift is around 500 revs too late!!!

too hard a launch or too many revs bud. you have to aim not to light up the tyres, feed the clutch in dont dump it, also modulate the throttle to keep wheelspin to a minimum.

15.5 isnt too bad as the strip you was at dosnt look the best. pity you cant make pod next week, tis a fair treck for ya though

Yeah im not the best... just 1st seems to go forever then your bouncing at 8.2k revs... change to 2nd and you have to wait around 250-500revs before ur in lift again... then it goes... but by that time you've lost :(

Once you can keep lift through first and second you'll be doing better. ;)

The funniest thing I've seen was at Santa Pod at the Rotorstock event we attended a few weeks back. The MR2 that does a wheelie.......now that is funny. Our MK2 Rotary powered Escort did 13.3 as a best time, just over 100 MPH

Please wait a few seconds for Video to load!

Kingo

How on earth can you do that? even after bouncing in first and ramming it into 2nd its still before lift?

I might look into adjusting when the 'race cam' kicks in... a lad i know has a 1.8 integra engine in his civic and he can adjust it down as low as 4.1k revs :o

You'll be paying nearly £1k for that. As you need an A'PEXi Power FC to alter it.

Lift is easy 1st to 2nd once you've got the technique. Don't bounce the limiter as it's make it harder to do. Feather the clutch and leave slight gas o when changing to 2nd, it'll keep it. practive makes perfect.

You'll burn your clutch out quicker but if you only do it now and again... ;)

Cheaper way if you find it harder to keep in lift 1st and second is to get an upgraded clutch, it disengages quicker allowing you to land lift easier. However t-sport is right about the technique he uses.

There is a big difference between vtec and vvtli.

vtec can be adjusted by loads of different aftermarket tuning tools VVTLI & I-VTEC cannot be, I-VTEC is used in the civic type r and is slightly different to the older vtec engines. However the I-VTEC uses the hondata kpro or something to lower there vtec. We need the power fc to lower lift. Im looking into another solution at the moment the greddy MSS, maybe be able to hook it up to the vvt solenoids to adjust lift but some strong tuning is needed to make sure no power is lost. Lowering lift is more complicated than it seems.

Practice your driving and your launching first Youll be suprised that if you perfectly shift and get used to the 2zz it is far more capable than many say.

Pod at the weekend with a Corolla Club group. Was an awesome day.

For those wondering... a CTS will run a 14 sec 1/4mile. ;) I can say it runs it in standard form as my car now runs with a Typhoon. But thats the only power mod on the car.

anyway, time...

14.8258 @ 94.47

also ran a 14.9 something or other... my other runs were all 15 flats and 15.1's bar the occasional fauxpar.

"oh fu** wheres my gears " lol.

good times and with softer that soft 4X4 suspension too. keep it up mid 14s are waiting :)

was a craking day yesterday, all the T-Sports did well (and the 1.4 rolla was impressive) i came home with probably the most consistant times its ever run all within 0.3 of a second of each other. no PB but happy enough with a 12.5 @119mph

bring on the next round
