How To Fine Engine Number For Celica 2001

hi..im a newby here..just bought a celica 2001.however in v5 certificate its indicate that the engine number is not known.can someone help me how can i find the engine number??i try to look out for it on the engine but i couln't find it??

is it somewhere else??

Gearbox end of the engine, on the cylinder block below the water outlet hoses from the cylinder head. It's towards the back of the engine bay (i.e. towards the passenger cabin). Probably need a torch and to push and pull some hoses/wireharness a bit to get a good view.

There'll be some etchings there into the aluminium of the block.

Depending on if you've got the 140/190 you'll see "1ZZ" or "2ZZ" and then the engine number will look something like "0123456" etched underneath it
