hi there new to this site! i bought a 2002 rav4 2.0 d4d 2 weeks ago privatly! on the way home pulling off a round aboot it had extreme power loss slugging up the road till i could stop! started it again an it was ok! but its done it a couple of times since! i have changed the fuel filter and away to change the flywheel thing coz its knocking now but can anybody help me with the power loss! would the flywheel be the reason??

Welcome to the club Gaz

It is possible for the car to lose drive with the DMF but it sounds like you are describing the VSV (which can sometimes be recovered by squirting WD40 inside it) or the SCVs. There are lots of posts on both if you do a quick search.
