White Paint On 09-On Avensis....

Was just wondering if anyone had a white Avensis....and if so what they thought about the quality of the paint etc.

A few white ones on the market just now, but just not sure whether to consider them. I know they are the cheapest colour to buy....but past experience of other marques have sometimes shown poorer paint jobs in white.

Cheers!

I have a white 2010 model and it does seem to chip easily. Also needs regular washing as I get black streaks showing down the panels from the door handles etc especially after rain. Have used Toyotas sticky repair spots in a couple of places to cover stone chips, have not as yet been able to find a proper touch up paint.

Though I probably wouldn't choose white again I don't think it's any worse than any other of their pain finishes. When I was looking to buy this one I looked at others in different colours and they were no better, in fact there were a couple of dark grey and silver ones that had relatively minor scratches but the light undercoat showed through very noticeably.

All modern cars are now painted with water based paint and it definitely doesn't seem as robust as hard or robust as the old stuff so it's not just a Toyota problem.

I've been looking at T27 Avensis Tourer prices in dealers UK-wide for a few months now & at least 2nd hand white ones don't seem any cheaper than metallics that would have cost a premium new.

White is a great colour, very easy to touch up and spray. Any marks can be cleaned with cream cleanser.
