My Toyota / MyT app

I've found the My T app much more reliable over the last couple of weeks. It's also had an update sometime over the last few days. The trip info is much better for the PHEV now. It has the hybrid score, time in EV, distance in EV and the map shows a blue line where EV was used and grey where HV was used. A significant improvement IMO.

All my MyT apps are up to date, iPad and Android on Samsung phone, and I have none of the data fields that you are describing it’s what I’ve been looking for since I got the car in May?

... which is exactly what HEV drivers have had all along. Does it still give you PHEV features (or does it now thing that your car has become an HEV)?

Still has all the features it had before but some additional now. These are a couple of screenshots. Hopefully arriving soon for those that don't have it already....

@nlee, what device is this on, iPhone? It’s the only version of the app that I don’t have a device for.

It's on a Pixel 5. App Version 4.6.1 (30135). Maybe it's an update on the Toyota end that is rolling out. The good news is it seems to be on its way!

Thanks for the update, so Android. I think your correct it’s probably a server update being rolled out unless it’s a car system firmware software. I’ll look to see if there is an update for the car when I’ve got a moment.

I am going to ask the lease company to either ask the supplying dealer or let me ask (no idea who it is) for the details of my ordered new RAV so I can track its progress in the app I gather.

What do I need, is it just the allocated VIN number?

I presume I just add it as another vehicle in the app alongside my existing one.

Thanks

Mine was done by the dealer when I placed the order with them.

The tracking details on the app just showed the order number,

Thanks for getting back to me, will have to see if the lease company are willing to contact/put me in contact with dealer. Not hopeful though.

My MyTapp has just updated and now shows the EV score etc., really pleased. So it must have been a server update.

I'm not seeing any of these new features on the app - I've got the latest version (Android 4.6.1 (30135)).

I'm wondering if there's something on the car that needs updating?

I didn't knowingly have any updates on the car, it just happened in the app when I checked last weekend. The app updated recently but I'm not sure that was what did it based on other comments above. I suspect it is an update on the server that is rolling out (slowly!)

I have the HEV, so not sure how different the functionality of the app is; but if I tap on the 'last trip', it now brings up a more detailed map of the journey and scrolling down gives more detailed stats.

It definitely looks like a server update as mine took a few days after it was originally posted, interesting data.

As a matter of interest my current Drive Score since I’ve got the car is 88% and the EV time is 85% and EV distance 75%. I have been surprised looking at the blue track on some of my longer trips how often the car manages to switch into EV mode.

Mine's a simple HEV but I'm not at all surprised that when I lift off and coast the car goes into EV mode - that is probably what it is supposed to do and a necessary behaviour in order to get decent fuel economy. So most A and B road journeys seem 50:50 EV and non-EV or, at least, have a good proportion of EV driving.

What did surprise me initially is that if I engage radar cruise and 'cruise' at motorway speeds the car decides never to run in pure EV mode - i.e. the ICE is never switched off at all. If I watch the 'display' while driving along it is clear that the car deploys electrical energy when going up and incline and harvests it when going down but it seems to have decided that switching the ICE on and off is a waste of time and energy ...

I agree with your observations the cruise control does seem to hold the ICE on longer than I’d have assumed. When I’m controlling the accelerator I can anticipate an up or downhill section which obviously currently the ACC currently can not.

This is the M1 mainly and I can see where the ACC/system has decided to switch to EV mode even if I’m not seeing it myself in the car?

Still impressive.

A very similar journey two days earlier - I got onto the M1 at Northampton via a cross country route and wholly without the benefit of a charged Battery but progress up the M1 (as far as Nottingham Services) follows a pretty much identical pattern ...

I have always had all these features on my Corolla.  They were accessible through Hybrid Coaching and All Trips.

When I just looked at last trip it only gave bare information though I just discovered Tap the Map and full information is shown.

Another feature I discovered by chance.

Your last journey is shown as is an outline map of where your car is.

Tap that map and scroll down.  At the bottom is a menu: Notes and Photos, Maps and Share.

Tap Maps and all available maps on your device are available including satellite.  Tap Share and you have the share options available.

So, at a guess, this would also tell you where your care is if it was moved without your consent ?

... or, for some of us, a very useful reminder of where on earth we left the thing!      🙂

Edit: more seriously, if you've left the car in a car park and wandered off into an area that you don't know so well, it allows you to use Google Maps (or similar) to find your way back to the car. Useful occasionally ...
