Norwhich Union quoted £900 for me as standard, they will do me for a yr then move else where.

Infact I phoned up Adrian Flux 2day, and I was shocked! On hold...

"Hi what car is it?"

"Yaris TS"

"Any modifications?"

"None, yet"

"Okay I will put you through"

Hold.... Hold

"Hey"

"Hello, Yaris TS"

"How old are you?

"18"

"NCB?"

"1Yr"

"Okay Il just put you through to someone..."

Next thing I hear on the phone

"Welcome to Norwich Union, please hold"

I mean WTF!

fuji back box

gmax lowering springs

i mean, 2 grand because its got a few exra bits on?? i was expecting my insurance company to say an extra £100 or so tops! not refuse to insure me! and norwich union's quote with the mods is too expensive!!

^ ^ That could well be because they are a broker, but in reality they should deal with the insurer themselves as that is what they are there for. And also they should tell you if you are gonna be transferred.

A lot of people on here seem to deal with Adrian Flux and have no problems, it could be that you got a new person who wasnt sure what they were doing.

Liverpool Victoria no longer insure modified cars with new policies. Anyone that has an exsisting policy, I think that you will find that they won't insure you come renewal!

This is true, i was with liverpool victoria with my punto, and when I changed to a yaris they told me they no longer insured modded cars. So I had to change insurance companies the night before I was due to get my exhaust.

Have you tried cis, they will insure modded cars, and they haven't charged me anything extra for my mod's.

I'm with Toyota Insurance. The mods I have on my TS are:

- Blitz Nur Spec R backbox,

- 16" OZ Crono alloys

- Sparco Strut Brace

- K&N panel Filter

- TOMS TRD Chin Spoiler

I was with Toyota Insurance from day 1 and have 3 years NCB. When I notified them of my mods, all they say was 'we'll note that on your record'. I was expecting a massive jump in cover this year, but it was lower than last year's cover. I recently got caught by the fuzz and now have a 3 point stain on my licence. I notified Toyota Insurance and they made their note and said that my current quote stands. Somebody went into the back of me last year, and although it took a little while to sort out, it was done quite competently.

CIS are the best imo, they dont give a crap really, just let them know what you have.

Performance mods such as turbos will increase insurance obvoiusly.. Everything else is free.

Is that right?

My parents are with CIS and have found them to be excellent in the event of a claim. Do you think they would insure a highly modified celica?

EDIT:

Do CIS or Toyota insurance provide like for like on the modifications though? Most policies like this will only provide you with a stock car, for example if its written off.

Yes they will, and i think you will find that the premuim is not much more, or the same

EDIT: No they wont, you have to be with a specialist insurer such as adrian flux and you have to be with there modified car plan so its a direct replacement, not stock replacement.
