management light keeps coming on and the car stalls. had a new ecu unit fitted 18 months ago and tried another one this week but light still keeps coming on and car dies. HELP!!!.

when the light came on before at least it would get me home, now the car just dies when the light comes on. when i turn the ignition off and back on the light goes off and you can drive again until the light comes on again. Toyota cannot find the problem.

can anyone help. :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:

Did Mr Toyota plug a computer into your car?

If so, what were the faults that came up?

These can usually lead you in the right direction when finding what is wrong.

There is probably nothing wrong with your ECU if you have changed it twice, but something is telling it to shut down the engine ( could be a duff sensor or a sensor that is doing its job )

it doesn't show up anything on the computer when it is plugged in!!!

This also happened 18 months ago and they found a wire that was chafed and was shorting out on the body but they have bypassed all the system and still cant find out what is wrong.

this time though the car is cutting out when the light comes on whereas before it would drive, albeit at 20 mph.

if MrT cant find it then... oh dear. If you have AA or RAC etc might be worth taking it 500 mtrs from home (unless you have homestart etc) and giving them a call to say its cut out and misbehaving.... get them to send someone and they should have a go at diagnosing it. done that a few times with various cars and theyve(RAC) been pretty good at finding what was wrong

gl finding and sorting the prob :)
