The steering "squeek" sounds like a mouse being severely tortured (removal of genitalia with a blunt rusty knife). It's a known problem and if you google "Avensis steering squeek" you get about a trillion links.

We don't mind people expressing their views or discussing problems. It's when it's all "sweary Mary" that it'll get binned :)

And Don't start having a dig at people either. I'm sure your shoes ARN'T worth more than my cars .. and I don't have an Avensis. I have an MR2 Turbo and an S2000 ..

And I've not been impressed with Jemca either, they did the "UK conversion" on my Import and it was shocking, it took me a long time cutting out all their shoddy bodge fixes and doing it properly.

I can understand your frustration with toyota as you have a problem that they obviously dont know how to fix, there are hundreds of stories on here about people having trouble with their dealers - thats why most of us steer clear and go to alternative toyota specialists who do actually know something,

However toyota do not run this site - we have no connection to the dealers , this is a site for toyota owners run by toyota owners, its here to try and help members with problems such as yours - im sure somebody has been through the same thing, i hope someone can help you

I only have good experience from my dealer as they have been very

understanding, competent and responsive in handling my complaints.
