Tapping From Driveshafts Problem

hi,can anyone tell me if the front driveshaft inner and outer hub bushes give any trouble,for the past 4 or so months i am getting a hollow sort of tapping sound from the front wheels when i drive over pot holes in the road and i suspect it could be the hub bushes,has anyone had this problem on the surf before,and is it safe to drive,any info or comments would be useful,thanks.
