Find Me An Auris Hybrid!

Think my best average in summer on summer wheels was 53mpg (mostly city and bypass driving and in ECO mode with ocassional into PWR bands) over a full tank

U?

I think my best average has been 63mpg, I guess that was while I was still driving like a vicar.

Only changed to power mode 3 times, instead I just stomp on the accelerator ;-)

At the moment I'm trying to see how many miles I get before the low fuel message comes up.

Still never managed to squeeze in more than 36 litres, so there is supposed to be another 10 left in there. I will report back when I chicken out.

You guys are making me very envious. As a Mk3 Avensis Tourer 1.8 owner, I love my car, but hybrids have had me interested. My next car may be an Auris Touring Sport hybrid. That won't happen for at least 5 years, but you never know.

Another point mentioned by Anthony is the fuel gauge reserve. I can go up to 400 miles and the low fuel light may or may not come on, but I can only get 47 litres of petrol in. The car supposed to hold 60 litres! So I use around to 10.5 gallons of the 13 gallons available. Toyota set a high reserve point.

I chickened out on my way home. Still had 16 miles left. Still only managed to put 36 litres in. My range is now 479, still a long way of the 750 stated in the brochure ;-)

The car has just passed 36000, nearly 6 years old now. Just wish I had bought a hybrid years ago.

The Auris touring sport was too new for me to find one within my budget. I'll see what I can get in 4 or 5 years time.

My mothers 2013 Yaris hybrid beats mine on sipping petrol, just not as refined as my Auris.

No harm in test driving one now...

....u never know might inadvertantly bought one :laugh::laugh:

Yes

Different cars have different reserves

Best to refuel asap once lights come on (unless u like Russian Roulette like Ant above) - lol

Having said that, ocassional experiments are ok - I had ZERO miles showing on mine with the last fuel bar flashing as I was experimenting with mine...if u got time to kill then by all means try to find it ok this thread of mine :)

About time I sorted out my rusted stone chips ....

One of the bigger chips...

Remove rust by scraping...

Add a blob of de-rusting "Bilt & Hambert" Deox Gel...and leave for a bit...

Just so long as you don't do it so hard that your eyes begin to glaze over.

Make it easy on yourself, start off with an angle grinder!!!!!!!!!!

Then follow up with the top coat :artist:

Tax dodging hybrid owners – grrrr gnash. It’s true enough what they say, most people try to avoid tax – the rich are just better at it.

Away and wash yer leather seats, I know where they came from
