Gen 5 top spec self charging model in the US for 2023 spec is $34,465 which works out approx £27,660 this is the highest trim money can buy the 'Limited' in the self charging model.

That would be a lot more palatable!

Thinking about it, it's likely it'll be closer to the cost of the Corolla; The given reason for not bringing it here originally is they were worried it would cannibalize Corolla sales so the costs will likely be in the same ballpark.

The latest list price I found listed the most expensive trim was showing at £35400 before discounts. There may also have been finance support too.

Not quite.

Reasons for not offering the 5th generation were:

a) Lack of demand for saloons in Britain, and,
b) Greater appetite for SUV-type cars

The lack of demand for saloons was also the reason for discontinuing the Corolla saloon.

Can we also get back to the topic subject (5th generation Prius), rather than discussing the costs of the 4th generation.
