I am actually using a 10,000 LUX light box every evening now that Winter is here. I don't suffer from SAD though so can't comment on how good they are for that. What I do suffer from is Cluster Headaches and this has virtually eliminated them (these seem to be caused by the same part of the brain that epileptics have a problem with as well as the part of the brain that reacts to light and dark and controls your body clock), so I'd honestly say it was the best £150 I have ever spent in my life.
