  4. Well 39,100 miles and the final two original tyres (used to be on the back now on the front) are nearing the time to say goodbye. I've ordered from Blackcircles two Falken ZIEX914 EcoRun tyres. (195/50 R16 88V) thats the size on my Tspirit Yaris HSD they are C rated for Fuel, B rated for wet grip. This choice is based mostly on what GrumpyCabbie says about Eco tyres - my never having bothered with them before. I had some Falken Ziex912's on my old Nissan Note and I really liked those..so hope these 914's will be half as good. I intend to leave the Kumho's on the back and stick the Falkens on the front. The OEM Conti Premium Contact 2 are E rated for Fuel and B rated for wet grip so the Falkens should do a little better on the gogo juice? I also have two Kumho Ecsta KH31's on the back. I just checked the ratings and today B/C says the Kumhos are E for fuel and C for wet grip. Well I've had these two since May and they seem OK to me. Whats been concentrating my mind is the rapidly declining tread depth on the Conti's on the front..so next Saturday ..they're off....! I hate those Conti's. Nissan fitten them to my Note dreadful things.

  6. Update, Had the new battery fitted on Saturday and apart from the alarm triggering when I parked 5 mins after I picked it up from the garage (it hadn't had chance to charge) I have had no further problems. Thanks for all the comments and help.

  7. We can have touchscreen technology and reversing cameras as standard, but not a light that costs a few pounds.

  8. Remove the key, you probably have to turn the steering wheel about a quarter turn before it locks

  9. Thanks for this very useful information. The printed manual supplied with mine has only 120 pages and omits a lot of detail. I discovered this when I wanted to know how the 3 position interior light switch operates. Not a mention apart from a diagram showing where the switch and the lights are. It doesn't even show where the 12v battery is located on the hybrid model. The online version has 464 pages and is much more like I would expect an owners manual for a new car to be.

  10. We all know the difference heating makes to hybrid economy - kills it. And whilst the a/c on a Toyota hybrid system is VERY efficient and doesn't kill your economy like it would in a traditional car, it does still make a dent. All my high average mpg's - read over 75 mpg - have all been with a/c and heating switched off. With a/c on it does draw a weeny bit of power from the battery (lots when it's first switched on on a very hot day and makes a heck of a racket in the process) and that does affect the top end mpg's. However, for most people the trade off between comfort and getting 65 mpg instead of 75 mpg (or is it the other way around) is one most people are willing to take.
