@kostas79 but in my last comment I thought I was specific enough. You need to tap your "back" or "reverse" cable into the cable #3 (brown) on the main black connector right behind your radio. Peel the cable off and connect the pink wire (in mine it was brown) to it with some electrical tape over it (I later replaced the electrical tape with heatshrink for a more professional job but is not mandatory) . If you want confirmation before peeling the cable check that this cable #3 is going to the 28 pin connector on pin #2 . If this is the case you will probably find that the car is not really filling this pin (if it was you would be getting the reverse signal) that's why you have to provide it in another way

I'm attaching an image of what I mean with "main connector" . Also, the pin is actually #14 if you look at the radio straight (it seems I said 3 before because I was looking at the radio with the top down) . Sorry for the confusion. Just know that it's brown and is going to the pin #2 in the 28 pin connector

@kostas79Yes, the climate settings screen is shown Everytime something changed. For example if you have it in "auto" it will be shown Everytime the computer increases the fan speed. I also wish it could be disabled. And yes, I also have the shortcuts problems. Other settings like my Google Account and apps do stay saved but somehow visual changes not. Maybe the manufacturer has a firmware update we don't have. Who knows

How do you get into that hidden menu pls. I have a yaris cross 2023 and need to adjust a few things which toyota does not. Amasing how toyota keeps everything so secret but then uses outdated software which was always a problem from inception

I don't understand why I should start another topic. This question pertains actually something you are writing about or not. and what does "op" mean?

My car does not have an aftermarket Android Head Unit. Does your do? Is that the reason you can get in through that Hidden menu.

Anyway I thought one comes here to help each other solve Toyota vehicle issues.

Sorry I had to bother you. My apologies.

OP - original poster or other poster

this thread relates to the installation of an aftermarket (Android) radio in older cars

Mk1 Yaris Cross and the Mk4 Yaris use the touch2 gen 3 system or the smart connect system, they are locked-down systems with very little customization - specifications and models vary due to location and the importer

Hidden service menu for the touch2

Hidden service menu for the MM17

Press the Vol/Power button so it displays Audio Off
Press the MENU button

Touch «Display»
Touch «Screen off»

Quickly press CH, 5 times  and immediately press TRACK, 5 times

turn the ignition off to exit the menu

see if the cable has dropped down, if you do not have a 24-pin you have one of the cars between changeovers

the unused white connector may be a 20 pin - edit. it is a 20 pin

you will  have to wire in a reverse from the instrument panel junction box aka internal fuse box

@F117 Seems like you finally got it. Nice. In my case and the case of @kostas79 the radio has a canbus with a brown cable that was already giving this 12v signal on reverse. So your radio didn't come with it ?
