Hid Kits

Iv installed my 6000K hid kit, but one side seems to be brighter than the other; or should I say, it seems as if 1 light is facing down and 1 is in centre position. Im not sure why this is. Any suggestions?

Regards

The light on the driver's side isn't as bright as another one. It is faced a bit differently so you'll see the "edge" of the road better. It's same with halogens, but maybe as the light wasn't as bright as xenon you didn't pay any attention to it...

Post some pic, it will be a lot easier to say then!

Best regards, Alex

You cant really tell by pik, but here goes... And also, the passenger side is the one not as bright.

I see it I think. This is not caused by what I thought it is... Maybe there's some problem with the levelling, maybe the

mechanism which is levelling the lights when you roll the wheel inside your car is stuck on another side? Or then something

went wrong during the installation and the levelling got wrong at that point? When you point the lights to the wall, is the pattern

pretty much symmetrical, or is the light higher on one side than on another?

Best regards, Alex

1 side is way higher than the other. If you look closely,(which you cant see from camera), 1 of the sides seems asif the light is facing down! i mean literally down :| chek the quik image i made to represent this..

So you mean only the bulb isn't straight? The projector and the projector's lens are symmetrical on both sides? Check that the bulb is connected correctly, maybe it's not fixed and that's why it's like hanging there. Or then it's just the wrong levelling, in that case you should go to your dealer. They will check it out and fix I suppose!

Best regards, Alex

Will get it checked.. Thanks =D Im getting it lowered within the next week or so aswell. Going to get the Toyota motersport springs. What do you think?

Regards

Maybe they won't offer enough lowering for your car with those big wheels, but you'll get some quality product. Why do you want TTE? They are much more expensive than many others!

Best regards, Alex

Which 1s do you recommend? I dont want to have issues with speed breaker/humps after lowering the car, dont want it lowered too much. Which springs would you recommend? How much were your H&R springs? Also, can you please send me a picture of your car from the side. I want to see how it looks.

I think 35 or 40mm will look great, feel great and you won't have problems. Especially if you'll drive carefully (not too fast). My H&R's costed me around 200eur.

Dont worry. Managed to make it display. Thanks. I cant really see too much of a difference. How much is the front and back lowered by? Which of these springs would you recommend? Which are of best quality?

I suggest you to go for some springs which lower the car symmetrically.

Front and rear same amount of mm. Maybe H&R, KW or Weitec? They have

good quality, they all are well known brands and the're not too low!

And yes I know, you cannot really see any difference between those pics,

as they've been taken from different angle etc... If there were two exactly

the same pictures, one had the car with original springs, and another with

lowering springs, the difference would be more recognizable.

So let's try this way: Look at the two pics below, they're both taken with

stock size tyres and lowering springs. Try to remember how do the stock Auris'

look and compare the pictures to what you remember. The space between the

wheels and the body is much smaller than in stock cars, and I can see it right

away, hope you too so this would be helpful :)

I was wanting to lower the car a bit more at the back than the front, cos the front is ok i rekon. The back is that looks like a jeep. lol. I was considering the Eibach springs.check the attatched pik.

Regards

Yes, he's right. But it's not necessary with 35-40 lowering... Usually shock absorbers are changed because the original ones won't work properly with some springs which are lower than original ones. Original shock absorbers are designed to work on some special height, if the height is different, shock absorbers won't like it :D But you won't notice it whilst driving, it's only that you'll have to change the absorbers more often. They should last about 80 000KMs I think, but with lowering springs they will have to be changed at about 75 000KMs, not very big deal to me. Especially if you're not the one who is driving huge distances with the car...
