  2. Cruise control can be easily retro fitted to some models. There was a thread about it a while ago, try a search. IIRC all you had to do was fit the control stalk and connect it in behind the steering wheel airbag or something. The centre arm rest was fitted to the upper level specs. Try a breaker for one. They sometimes come up on ebay but are quite expensive. Traction control can be switched off as per Druid Boy's advice. Reverse sensors from ebay for £14 wok a treat on my T27 and weren't hard to fit. The installation instructions and templates for their position for the official Toyota ones are on toyota tech website. I put my sunglasses in the lidded box at the gear lever. I actually found it a better place than above my head. Hope this helps :)

  4. Exvec: my 06 T3-S has a TRC switch that allows me to turn the traction control off. Its by the mirror controls. Does yours not have one or by switchable did you mean different settings? I only switch it off in the snow now because I got so far sideways with it off that I realised it was better at controlling the car than I was - especially first thing in the morning when I am in a rush. Woke me up though.

  5. You can get it re-gased at most local garages these days Gaz. Make a few phone calls and ask them what the procedure is. They should be telling you it has to be evacuated by vacuum if they do it right. For that reason I would avoid these DIY kits.

  7. Surprisingly my Forum Name was chosen a few weeks before I bought my first Yaris many years ago......I was intent on getting a RED one but Toyota could not supply one within my timescales so offered me a free upgrade to a Carlo Blue Metallic Yaris.....It was a few years later that I did buy a RED Yaris........but have subsequently had several more cars......not all Yaris's and never another RED one!So the name chosen all those years ago stands proud! :)

  8. If you take it to Kwik Fit for a regas they will do all the tests first before they actually try to fill it with gas,by evacuating the old gas then pressure test and only if it has no leaks will the machine refill the system,oh and they also put in a dye to see if there are any leaks and if there are any problems during the process you are not charged,as i said Kwik Fit are good for this service, just about anything else not so good...oh and i don't work for them either.

  9. Could be that you've got satnav announcements on and set to low volume. These come from the left speaker, while the original CD/radio continues on the right speaker, but at much reduced volume. I found this so awful that I just set the satnav voice announcements off and use the display and HUD only.
