  1. my dad had a Jazz with a CVT which I borrowed once I passed my test and that did 80k miles in 6 years without any problems until it got wiped out by an idiot in a toyota corolla. It got regularly serviced with I presume the specific oil required for CVT.

  3. Hi, The CVT in my iq2 was replaced after it started whining, mine was never that loud and sounded like an electric motor which was more noticeable over 40mph but was doing it all the time even when cold, car had done 7000 miles. it was replaced under warranty with no fuss in 2 days and has been fine so far. Out of warranty the price quoted would have been £5400.... regards J

  4. Hi tent The 510 operating system is on the memory card and is an un encrypted file called Loading.kwi and is a UNIX fife. When you buy a new map card it automatically updates the firmware if there has been a change Some times that file can get corrupt like when you try to start the car with a flat battery. When this file is corrupt, you cant get the unit to work at all it is a good idea to keep a copy of the Loading.kwi file and copy it to a blank memory card of 4gb for safe keeping. This can be used to at least get functionality back except the maps which are encrypted with the card manufacturers serial number when the card was made making it not possible to copy the card in total. But if you have a copy of the file you can overwrite the original and bring the 510 back to life with maps David

  5. buklau111 may I suggest that you read your posts then re-read them again before hitting the post button. That way you won't make so many howling errors, albeit amusing for us it's not fair on you... ;)

  6. £55 equates to approx 42 litres (9.24 imperial gallons) - whereas the Auris fuel tank takes 55 litres (12.09 imperial gallons). If you're saying you did 270 miles on 9.24 imperial gallons, that's a pretty woeful 29.22 miles per gallon.

  9. Our vehicles would probably still have to be EU compliant. But maybe it would make it easier for manufacturers to import a wider range without having to be a 'one size fits all of Europe' as it is now. Toyota Australia have some nice looking cars. The IQ, some of the other cars from Toyota Japan could be nice too. I think Toyota are also getting rid of the IQ for political reasons too. The Aygo is built in Europe and they want to support those jobs, esp as sales are low and Toyota are still losing market share.

  10. There is perhaps a slight hope left ? Only very slight ! All these new regulations I think are dream't up by a bunch beaurocrats in Brussels, If by chance the UK get's out of the EU then they would not call the shots. and if UKIP got in to power we would tell the EU to go and get stuffed ! Perhaps the the IQ could come back to UK ? A long shot I know but just an idea !
