  2. If it was me i would be taking the hub off and then seeking the assistance of a friendly garage owner and offer him a few bucks to press the old bearing out and then pressing the new one in,done one myself on a vw polo a press is a must.

  4. Hi, having just done a front wheel bearing with guidance from above (literally)especially Konrad: I would have not done it without my friend's 20 ton press! pushed the old one out at 12 tons max. pressure, do not underestimate this task. And don't try to undo the ABS sensor bolt on hub, it shears off and you end up taking the cable out with the hub and then re-drilling and tapping the sensor bolt.(found out the hard way.) Cheers

  5. Just had a look at my headlight low beam socket and from within the access hatch you can see a lot of the other wires as well as the two that go to the bulb. From the wiring diagram, for your rh lo beam to now not to come on , but the both hi beams come on instead , then it would seem they have somehow connected the low beam feed to the hi beam wires, not the original lo beam, or they have made a really bad short circuit some how. Solution - take it back and get them to correct it - Free Of Charge !

  6. If you ran into the rear of someone else I'd just report it to your insurers and let them sort it. Get your car repaired that way too. The days of rear end damage to a car being £200 are long gone, let alone the driver or one of the passengers suffering some injury. You pay your insurance for a reason - let it protect you.

  7. In a word, brilliant! But that doesn't mean perfect! I bought my 2007 Prius when it was 2 yrs and 9 mths old, it now has 138,000 miles on the clock. In that time it has had 2 repairs, a broken suspension spring and a replacement tail light bulb. The average mpg over that 5 years is 58.3, and that is 100% accurate, I always fill up and note the miles. The on-board mpg indicator can be very inaccurate, but overall on average is about 2 mpg optimistic. The mpg figure has improved each year, the last year being average 62.8. Whether that’s because the engine gets looser with mileage or because my driving technique is improving I don’t know. A significant chunk of my driving is on motorways as I use the car for work. I knew very little about Priuses when I bought it, I just wanted an automatic that gave a good mpg. I just don’t understand why everyone doesn’t have one! I note that in most cities, including my city (Leeds), Pruis taxis are very commonplace. Here’s to the next 5 years!
