  1. I have a Touch and go plus and im currently downloading a 7.4gb update. Goodness knows what this includes but if its just map updates I won't be happy. It will probably take an hour or so to load too. Toyota are amazingly incompetent at technology for a Japanese Company.

  2. You should confront that dealer right away and challenge him on his assertion because it is NOT true!! Looks to me as if he is trying to keep his options open in regard to ripping you off! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN "APPROVED TOYOTA USB STICK"!! I'm guessing that your dealer is a bit of a technical numpty and has probably translated this... To do this, insert the fingerprint USB stick into your home PC or laptop with the Toolbox programme open. Accept the update, and then open the “Downloads” section of the Toolbox. Select the download (application or map update) that you require and once it is paid for (if payment is required) you can download the update to the USB stick from the “Updates” section of the Toolbox. (from Toyota's blog page) ...as meaning that a "fingerprint USB stick" is somehow a "special" stick because he fundamentally doesn't understand the technology himself...

  3. Bushes (X 2) 31301C and the bolt that goes through them 90109-10167 would be the first thing i would aim for, probably with the plastic straw that comes with the WD40 to try and get the lubricant in even slackening the nut 90197-10088 a little just to see if you can get some sideways movement on the bolt with the help of a small hammerto see if it alters the stiffness of the pedal. Regards Mike.

  4. I can't believe they are that hard to find it's a prettty generic bulb that has many applications in various makes and models. I keep a tool tray with old bolts, nut, relays, bulbs n allsorts from cars that may one day be handy who knows. I replaced several of the heater control panel bulbs in my old 1.8GS with odds n sods bulbs i'd picked up, they came out of the instrument display panel of a Cavalier or a Primera or possibly an Audi 80 coupe i'd. robbed of it's oil temp, pressure and volt meter. Point is if your having trouble locating them and you don't mind an afternoons hunting you'd find replacements from another toyota or nissan probably down at a breakers yard. Obviously you can't test if they work or not but if they're black don't take them and if you can find 5 or 10 then you're bound to have some that will work :)

  5. That is quite correct Raeman, I personally would prefer a gauge as then you can keep an eye on it. With the light, if it comes on red you must stop, there is no earlier warning that the temp is rising with a needle you can see the needle rising towards the hot end. Why don't all manafactures put a gauge in as i think it is one of the most important gadgets instead of the cheap option like that in the Yaris?
