  1. A rather detailed 'grown-up' review of the new Prius, is quite analytical, but not in a boyzone/topgear way, and is rather positive about most aspects. Perhaps the rear design detail leaves a fair bit left to wish for , and the rather un-European interior white splashes, but over all 4 strong stars....although second to the Audi Etron in the e-vehicle stakes (£35k!) http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/toyota/prius

  2. I hope you are as pleased with it as we are with ours. Don't forget to get a shelf for the boot Gerry.

  3. I typically get just over 600 miles between fill-ups. Average indicated mpg is 53-54. It tends to go down in winter though. Not bad for an 8 year car with nearly 100,000 miles on the clock! Mine is the D4D engine. I do one longish motorway run each week.

  4. Just a quick update. They are going to get it fixed, sometime next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. The sills on both sides of my Auris were like this when I bought the car. I only really noticed after I'd owned it for a few months but I'm convinced it didn't happen during my ownership as the car hadn't been jacked since I bought it . The metal is surprisingly soft and I was able to bend it back to some extent so at least the damage wasn't visible from above .

  6. Why do they do this sort of thing when there are perfectly good jacking points provided on the car! If you look under the car on your second picture there is a big bolt head that holds the sub frame on and I always jack under there on my car, it's a very solid mounting. If you are not in the mood for complaining and likely getting nowhere, I have repaired this kind of damage myself in the past on other cars. The metal is surprisingly flexible and you will be able to (carefully) bend it all back into shape with a pair of pipe grips. Work along the seam in small increments inching it back in small steps. Unfortunately you will likely break the paint finish so paint it again with some sealer or wax anti corrosion when you are finished. If you pay a body shop to do the work they will do the same as I suggested, There is nothing else really you can do. Craig.

  7. Urban crusier yellow light for me was DPF which was eventually changed. Less than a year later same issue resolved by adding DPF cleaner to fuel a few times cheaper than replacing filter..................then selling car and buying a petrol model!

  8. If the light flashes on start up then its a service reminder if it comes on and stays on it indicates an oil level issue either too low/high. Is your oil level correct? if it is but the light is still coming on then you may have a faulty level sensor in the sump.

  9. I think your confusing that sucking sound when you release the fuel cap... in my case its the sound coming from my wallet as the bank notes are being extracted to pay for the fuel!

  10. My 2007 1.8vvti estate used to fluctuate between 600 and 800 rpm when idling and would give the same shudder when too low before self correcting and then going through the whole sequence again. I thoroughly cleaned the mass airflow sensor with no benefit but once replaced with a new O.E unit the problem was solved. The original one looked perfectly clean with no obvious deposits but they can obviously develop faults over time. Mine had done 63000 miles when the fault developed.

  11. To understand your figures better I did a quick conversion to miles per gallon using 4.54 = 1 Imperial gallon and 100 km = 62 miles. So 4.55 litres per 100 km = almost 62 mpg. 5.55 litres per 100 km = 50.8 mpg. Quite a drop but still mighty impressive compared to the likes of what I get. Are these figures from your onboard computer? What's your average speed?
