  1. According to Toyota Finland, there is also update for MM17 multimedia device. To get this update, you have to contact your local dealer... This update should help with map orientation etc....

  2. I have used an iOttie Easy One Touch 4 in Gen 3 and Gen 4. Sticks solidly to the top of the dash as well as the windscreen. Had mine for a couple of years: seems robust and has never come unstuck. Didn't leave a mark on the dash when I took it off one car to move to another. Fairly rattle-free, too. Not cheap at £25 on Amazon, but good value. Friends have bought them and liked them. They do a version with a charging pad built in too. I looked at the cupholder type but you have to take your eyes so far off the road to peer more or less at your knees; seemed very unsafe to me.

  3. Have a look at my "how to". It's a T25 but it might be helpful.

  4. So true bout not using tap water. I only use premixed washer and coolant. Tap water has so much impurities that can cause issues. Distilled water has less issues, but I still prefer to use premix.

  5. Paul, after you find the correct jets I would advise you to only use quality premixed screenwash, as the jets are apparently not the best of quality and clog-up extremely easy. The drivers side jet on my 2012 avensis failed after a few years and was replaced under warranty, only to fail again after another 2 years. I replaced this avensis with a 2017 model and was advised to only used premixed screenwash, they haven't clogged up so far. Toyota will charge you about £15.00 for 1 jet.

  6. In case anyone is remotely interested, the battery number refers to its dimensions. 2016 is 20mm diameter and 1.6mm thick. 2025 is 20mm diameter and 2.5mm thick etc

  7. Hello all, just an update on the airbag ECU. Sourced a replacement from a breaker, the same model and year, for £25. Removed the battery and left for 2 hrs. Removed the trim panel located between the centre console and the dash, folded the carpet back on the left foot well and removed the round clip from the right foot well - then pull from the front to release from the two front clips on the panel. The ECU now sits in front of you. Three yellow connectors in a line, with the square ones on the left and right being the sensors and the one in middle feeds through to the main car ecu. Remove the connectors by pushing down the retainer lug and pull back, noting the sequence. Unbolt the four torx bolts, easy for the front and fun for the back, Now simply replace with the replacement unit and reverse the steps back to reconnecting the battery. So with keys in hand this is the point that had me wondering. Deep breath and ignition on. Airbag light on and with the car running, imagine the surprise when the light went out and everything settled down. No bangs. No codes to clear down. Just a car MOT'd at 4pm and a clean pass.
