  1. Just returnered from holiday. 3014 km in total, 80% on motorways. Mpg average is 56,5, which I find very satisfying. Best part is the 2.0. Driving up the mountains, speeds pretty low, maybe 30 mph, sharp turns etc. is handled without a sweat. Rpm's find a place around 3500, enough to get the car going and accelerating, but not loud and screeming. Same on the motorway. Fast overtaking, driving up hill with 75 mph, revs goes up to 3500, but rarely any higher. Of course the car car be forced to red line, but acceleration is'nt much faster, and noise much higher. I'm very happy with the car. Only down side is the missing Carplay or Android Auto.

  2. Never done a wrap before, enjoyed process but its rubbish, needs to come off as full of wrinkles, needed car so been using as is for past few days. I tend to do mirrors also. I am a magpie for Purple, this wrap is black purple gloss. Its going to cost another £50 for materials and a prof is going to help and teach me circa £50. Thoughts please. I can handle the good bad ugly. I own the car.

  4. Thats funny. My car is the opposite. Calcalation at the pump is better than the dash board.

  5. Since my post in 2017 Toyota have simplified things, where previously you would have had variation depending on engine, country of build and with/without ABS they have reduced the options down to two depending on rear brake disc or rear brake drum with ABS setup. Previously if you had for example a french built without ABS you would get exactly that a french built part without fittings for ABS however now all beams are of the Japanese type with ABS fittings ( ABS fittings would remain unused on a non ABS car ) this simplifies things if you are buying new. It also slightly simplifies things if you are trying to source a used bit as you can ignore engine type and build location you just need match with rear drums / with rear discs and if you have ABS make sure the used beam comes from a car with ABS if you don't have ABS you can used either with/without ABS type. Latest part numbers are: 42110-52130 Drum type 42110-52180 Disc type Hope this make sense After further part # checking as MADASFISH says avoid 1.0 as donor source they do not follow the above, 1.3 & 1.4d will be fine, T-Sports all had rear discs so unless you have rare Mk1 non Tsport with rear discs avoid 1.5 Tsport as donor as well

  6. Yes, I got Denim Blue because I thought everyone would go for Red! I do like the Red, and Denim Blue was my second choice really, but I am pleased I chose it. In the event, I have only seen 1 red, and multiples of the other colours, and just 1 other Denim Blue. So I need not have worried about picking the same colour as most other drivers. Everyone seems to comment on the Denim Blue, even today, I had a chap admiring it.

  8. Ha, I was wondering who would be brave enough to buy one! (I buy huge amounts of stuff on Aliexpress but its not for the faint hearted), I would have done this if my car wasn't on a short lease. Good work.

  9. I would say ANY Japanese built Yaris 1999 to 2004 would be the same.. BUT the suspension on a D4D - springs/coils may well be different (the springs are). So you may have to remove those and swap over - but as you will have to remove them anyway to remove the subframe .. no extra work... I would try to use a 1.3 - more likely to have the same parts as a D4D.. the 1.0 had several changes to save weight . Sorry for the vagueness.

  13. Took delivery of my poverty spec new work van today. Order went through 20th Dec it turns out. 2020 car with Android Auto. Hand over at my house all painless and done at physical distance. First job done by the delivery driver was to sanitise the new car. First impressions are good. CVT takes time getting used to. Cabin space is good but it replaces a 2017 Skoda Superb estate, so Everything is smaller after that.

  14. Hi Angel, I really like the purple with the white but I would guess that the Mark 2 Aygo roof will be much more difficult to wrap than the Mark 1 due to the shape, the two bumps don't make it easy, do they? I know that you have chosen a really good quality wrap but before you splash out another £100, have you got a price for a professional wrap done up in Lanarkshire? The professional wrappers will have the job done in no time and also make a good job of the very difficult mirror wrap at a cost of (I would guess) £200-£400. Whilst you're at it, I bet that your Aygo would look stunning with the roof, mirrors and.......What about wrapping the "X" on the front in the same purple metallic? It would cost more but would look unique. I've wrapped the B pillars and put headlamp (Smoke grey) wrap on the white heater control box in my Mark 1 and without a heat gun, confidence and a fair amount of bravery, even those small jobs weren't a walk in the park. All the best and good luck!

  16. Had a hard think through the many many many cars I had as a youngster, and I have never owned a Toyota. That changes next week with the arrival of a new RAV4. Be gentle. 👍
