  1. Although bought from a Toyota dealer my gen 3 Prius had very cheap (but handsome!) new chinese tyres all round. These were quickly sold on the bay. I have now put a full set of Dunlop Sport Maxx RT on (A wet grip, C rolling resistance, 67db noise) and the car is transformed. Wet roads feel dry. MPG has improved and I can now actually sneak up on pedestrians at over 30 mph due to the silence outside.

  2. I had 2 Dunlop Sport BluResponse (Eco B Wet A 68 dB ) 195/65R15 91 H fitted to my Prius just over 9½k miles ago - £66.21 each at my Toyota dealer. They put the new ones on the rear and the original Bridgestones got moved to the front. These were replaced by two more Dunlops a couple of weeks ago, and again new tyres on rear. After 9½ k the first two tyres had only lost about 1mm of tread, but obviously it's difficult to gauge overall wear based on 2 rear tyres. I've been very pleased with their performance (especially on some very waterlogged roads recently) and they do seem to make slightly less noise. They had some good reviews too, if you Google "Dunlop Sport BluResponse".

  3. Update 2014 Passed its MOT this morning with no advisories.. Done 135,898 miles now. (2001 Y reg) Work in last year included new anti roll bar bushes and links at front and new battery (both ex ECP). For MOT, new front wipers and 1 new sidelight bulb (the first bulb ever replaced iirc) After passing, changed oil (5-30W synthetic ex Halfords £10.00 offer) plus Halfords oil and air filters. 25 minutes. As usual, keeps running, sounds OK although the silver bodywork is a bit battered and bruised and the metal under the rear bumper has seen better days. It's a banger but it does 40 miles a day round trip commuting to work with no issues.

  4. Thank you very much. It's pretty rare (Tuscan Plum). I've only ever seen it twice: once about 10 years ago (when I said to myself "I want an SR in Plum" and another last year on Autotrader). It's a beautiful colour, and not one of the 50 shades of grey that you can chose from on newer cars.
