  1. I've had my white 2014 IQ2 auto for 3 months now and thought I'd give a summary of what i think is good and not so good. I'd wanted an IQ for a number of years and having parted with my GT86 I decided I wanted my next car ownership experience to be less fraught but still fun. Good things: Auto 'box. Wiper sensors...never had them but now would miss them. Rear view mirror that dims automatically. Fun handling and car is chuckable to a degree. Quite a lot of storage and have invested in glovebag Love how clever, unique and quirky it is compared to other small cars....especially the seating options and adaptability. I drive with rear seats down and material parcel-shelf up. Steering wheel controls impress too. Keyless entry was a must having had it in gt86 so iq2 was picked as I only have a 2 mile daily commute. Impressed by the turning circle & love the look of curve on the side rear window. Not so good: Dash rattles - GT86 had this too so seems Mr T is cutting back on build quality. Poor interior lighting - to be rectified on Thursday with rgb lighting to footwells and boot. MPG not fantastic and I have to drive like a nun to get good figures. Options fitted: Carpet mats Rear split mat/liner. Parrot bluetooth 9000 fitted so can stream music. Front mudflaps. I've uploaded some pics...

  2. Some 07 3.0 d4d models had injector seal washer leaks, leading to combustion leakage into lubrication system, oil contamination, oil pickup strainer blockage, engine oil starvation and ultimate engine failure, so check if yours is either the later unaffected model or has had the copper injectors seals replaced if it isn`t.

  3. The bulb for the new auris isnt that bad, but i've read a lot of people are complaining about it when driving on dark country road. But toyota has always given a firm response that they've complied with the uk regulation and done some testing and research. But for us its not good enough. I have tried and driven it on a dark country road and i can say its not that bright. I have tried using osram unlimited 9006 as an alternative and find it more brighter than the hir2 and gives a whiter light. Also tempted to get an aftermarket hid but due to legality sake i better keep out of it .

  4. Glow worms in jam jars work far better than candles, anything is better than what they laughingly call headlights. My last car had HIDS,when I first turned them on WOW I thought it was daylight.

  5. The current Auris uses a different bulb fitment to the first generation. The first generation used H11 bulbs, whereas the second generation uses HIR2 bulbs. Not sure anyone makes HID kits to replace HIR2 bulbs as yet. Halogen upgrade bulbs are also unavailable for HIR2 bulbs. An alternative could be as per posts 24 and 26 of the following topic: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/101231-toyota-iq-headlights/
