  1. Generally if one has carpet mats in one's car, the driver's mat tends to have the heaviest wear, and wears out faster than the other three mats. One can now purchase OE single driver's carpet mats for some vehicles, which will save having to buy completely new sets in the above scenario. Available from Parts King, your local Toyota dealer or the Official Toyota Store on Ebay See: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ToyotaOfficialStore?_fsub=&_nkw=&_nkw=single+car+mat&submit=SEARCH&LH_TitleDesc=1&clk_rvr_id=927410690024&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true

  3. If you have a smart key, then make sure you keep it well away from the car while doing the brakes - the car 'awakens' as you approach it with the key and pressurises the brakes. I looked at this a while back, and found some to-do's on Prius Chat - do your research! It could be an expensive trip to the dealer to reset the system.

  4. And if anyone is wondering I did try replacing the LED's at the lower end of the speedo with a green one and the one the other end with a red one. It did look good to be honest but didn't really work with the blue lights in the rest of the car, if you kept the amber illumination I think it would look pretty cool. :) Craig.

  5. Well, All finished now. :) Did the last of the blue LED's tonight. Decided to change the green heater screen to blue as well to keep a more simple theme going through the car. I changed the LED's clustered around the speedo and rev counter needles to blue but then changed them back to the original red LED's as the blue colour didn't travel up the needles very well. I changed the shift lights while I was there from green to blue. The MPG gauge is a fair bit brighter with the blue LED's so I have had to turn the brightness down on that to the minimum setting. All in all a lot of LED's changed, over 40 with a quick count but I like the effect and think it's worth it the effort. Just need to work on an illuminated mirror adjust switch now and I will change the airbag warning light from orange to blue as David said it can be done. :) Craig.

  6. Yes they are correct and it is not just any old silicone sealer. Unless it is really leaking badly I would be tempted to leave it until it became heavy, otherwise it is quite a big job to strip the sump off, clean it up etc etc

  7. To be honest I have given up using mine, earlier this year I bought the latest overpriced Toyota maps to find on a trip down France that they were still not showing a lot of new roads, I have downloaded Sygic to my Android phone and found it so much better than the in car system, I use that instead, it cost me just over £14 for lifetime use with four free Tomtom map updates every year speed limit warnings speed camera warnings and all the roads not showing on Toyota system are showing correctly, the 3D mapping is superb I can store routes Etc, sit in the house and program it in comfort, far better all round.

  8. As regards rubber mats, Hitech who do OE mats for the likes of Nissan and Mercedes Benz do some quite reasonable sets of tailored car mats available through their retail website - http://www.ukcarmats.co.uk/collections/toyota Note that the images on the website aren't the actual model specific mats. 9. & his website is http://www.techmoan.com One of the nice things about the CF-100 is that it has a proper buffered parking mode if you want that but on an Avensis to take advantage of that you will need to hard-wire it & strongly recommended to use a battery discharge protection device (so more money ~£25). If you want to add GPS it's an add on (Morgan Computers has it for ~£20 delivered). If you don't want the rear camera of the CF-100 Morgan Computers has the CW-100 (essentially the same as the main CF-100 unit) for £40 (& you can probably find a 10% discount code).

  10. If you dont disconnect the 12v battery, and open the driver door, doesnt the brake system repressurize and eject the pistons if they aren't assembled? Also if you disconnect the battery, is the boot lock manual or electronic? Some sites recommend putting a towel over the lock so the boot wont close shut.

  11. S0rry lads for the late reply, full on with work so not getting mush time on the pc,anyway, dropped my avensis tourer back over to my machanic last week to sort out the airbag light,it turned out to be a crash sensor just at the back of the right headlight,my machanic said this controls the airbags in the car if its in a major crash.he orders the part as it was faulty[,he switched over the sensor from the left hand side of the car and it worked,he then put it back on the cumputer and it showed the left hand side sensor was gone,]the sensor arrived the next day and he fitted it and the airbag light went out,so alls good now, thanks for your help..

  12. Not sure whether it is fitted to a manual gearbox version or not but on the CVT box version it makes a huge difference if you want to get off the mark or overtake quickly. It gives a better throttle response and holds the gear longer before changing up.
