  1. Ok, another one for you. Email john.devlin@lindop.toyota.co.uk he is a top parts person for obviously Toyota. He has told me where to get parts for mine that are no longer stocked. Alternatively you can phone him on 01978 720074, he's a nice man and easy to chat to, he also has the nickname 'Kingo'. You may get through to a switchboard but just ask for him under either/both of these names, you are welcome to say Mike169 or Metal Mickey gave you his details. Mike.

  2. Superb. Used to love the colour red in a car then went off it, cos they can get to look very faded and lacquer peeling off etc when not looked after. But in ur case with a lot of care, the colour red has to be one of the best colour's I think, especially for a Celica.

  7. I had a similar problem after my Renault 5 was vandalised (a long time ago) . Like your Corolla, it had hinged rear quarter-lights. However, the base model had fixed glass with a different seal, and I was able to find the fixed glass and seal in a scrap yard. Just wondering if that's applicable to your Corolla, in which case gives you another option.

  8. Hi Rebecca, how about trying Autoglass, just Google them for contact details. Tell them what you need, they can only say sorry if they can't help, worth a phone call. Mike.

  9. Don’t worry, the part you jacked up your car from is a solid steel part so no issues with it. Just be carefull when you jack up your car using random areas because jack can slip

  12. Thanks to one and all. I have junked the NGK IFR6T-11 and replaced them with the Denso K16R-U11 as stated in the handbook. I have noticed an immediate difference in the engine, the response and idle. To me, the engine is a lot more happy now. I wish I did have the actual invoice from the dealer. In the place of I have a type of job sheet that shows what has been done and the cost of each, plus labour. While it says 'set of plugs' it does not state what was actually fitted. Never mind, as long as my Toyota is smiling now I can drive feeling safe. Long live Toyota

  18. Didn't realise it'd been this long since I updated the thread. For one reason or another I just haven't done anything with Paddy since the last update. Well, except for putting wheels on it and filling the brake fluid up, only to realise one of the calipers has sprung a leak at the oil bleed valve. And do you think I could find where I put the new ones I bought a few months ago!? Long story short, I got given/bought a Subaru which is now on the driveway, which in turn caused the misses to have a fit and demanded that one of the cars had to go, otherwise she'd scrap the Corolla. I haven't mistyped that sentence! So for the last few weeks I've been trying to find a lock up to put the Corolla in while I continue to work on it, but I've had no luck. I even put it up for sale for a day, had a lot of interest in breaking it but not actually buying it. So I took it off the market. But, thankfully, I've managed to find somewhere to put the car while I get it on the road - my Mom's driveway! The Mrs is happy as it's "gone" (for now at least), and my Mom is happy as I said I'd pay her rent for the driveway space. So, forgive the lack of movement on this, but I just haven't had the time or anything like that for it. But, I would like to point out something. I took the car off the stilts and started it. It struggled to start but it's to be expected. Old fuel, cold start, haven't really serviced the engine either. But the clutch!!! It's night and day difference, and actually worked. I may have been more inclined to scrap him if the clutch wasn't right, but from the little bit of driving I did do the clutch was flawless and so so so much lighter than before. So yeah, I haven't given up. Just got to rehome him and get him on the road.
