  1. Thanks, I ordered a cable from Amazon 16a. I read in the reviews that there was space for a padlock to stop the cable level being depressed fully. I am really liking the Prius, lovely silent drive. It has made me drive calmer!

  2. With the 2018 facelift and updated tech on the x play model, I would be renewing my pcp again. I save up enough money for a deposit, last time I only had to pay £500.

  3. People's circumstances vary quite widely, and what may be right for one, may not be for another. Some people like PCP's, some don't. It depends how comfortable you feel with renewing the PCP, and leasing rather than owning. Paying off the 'balloon payment' (the guaranteed future value of the car), will mean that you will own the car, and you can keep it for however long you want or change it when you want. Renewing the PCP on a new or nearly new car may require you to pay a deposit at the start if you don't have enough equity left in the old car (ie. the old car is worth less or not much more than the guaranteed future value). Renewing will give you a newer car, but on a new lease. The auto option on the Aygo isn't a true automatic - rather a manual gearbox with automated clutch. With the first generation Aygo, some who have had the auto have found it to be quite expensive to repair if problems occur. The current Aygo has a developed version of the same gearbox, and I have yet to see the same type of issues arise on the forums - although the oldest second generation Aygo will only be 4 years old. Really only you can decide which way is the best for you.

  4. FOR SALE - 2007 Amazon TD £12600 We bought this awesome UK supplied cruiser 2 years ago to do 3 offroad journeys in rural Portugal. Morocco and to tour the Alpine passes. We just completed the third journey in July, each of them taking 4 to 6 weeks, and we are now returning to Australia and need to sell our reliable friend. Between journeys our Landcruiser was stored in a friends garage. If you are planning some 4x4 journeys, this Amazon is perfect. It cruises the autoroutes effortlessly at 120kpm at just over 2000 rpm, and then completes with the best offroad vehicles to tackle the tougher terrain. We had 9000 trouble free miles with this car, and this model is the sought after car in Australia because it was the last year of the 4.2TD engine, powerful, strong and easy to maintain. Australian Amazons frequently achieve 500,000 k’s of touring in harsher conditions. We joined up with several groups and the comfort & capability of the Landcruiser impressed everyone. It has been prepared for extended traveling by West Coast Offroad, and has over £10000 of additional extras added, including Old Man Emu suspension, 3” stainless steel exhaust, ARB front bull bar, ARB rear bumper with spare wheel & fuel carrier; safari snorkel, twin lockable Iron Man storage drawers and also includes our camping gear, tents, air mattresses, chairs, cooking equipment and (unused) recovery equipment. An additional set of steel wheel rims is included. Poor bits : air con needs attention, and the rear ARB steel bumper requires a sandblast and repaint. Note: the additional bump seats have been removed to fit the storage lockers, so it is a 5 seater vehicle. This is an exceptional opportunity to buy a fully equipped expedition cruiser to fulfill your 4x4 dream, available until 9th August only - as we depart the UK the next day. Available for viewing in Basingstoke Hants. Phone Ray on 07934 236145

  5. Of course, I was only joking about the 89/85MPH. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say we would never break the speed limits! Sandie. Lincolnshire is just made for the Aygo. All the twisty roads bring out the best of the handling characteristics.

  6. After 2 years of owning the awesome 2007 Amazon TD I’m going home to Oz. This fully fitted out expedition vehicle was amazing offroad in Portugal and Morocco and we returned from our Alpine passes tour on 23 July. The turbo Diesel engine cruised effortlessly on the auto routes at 130kph at 2500revs, to transverse Countries at ease. Toyota makes a fantastic combined cruiser and offroad vehicle - no wonder it sells more cars in Australia than any other manufacturer. The Amazon is now for sale at £12500 and that includes all our camping & unused recovery gear. Ray +44 7934 236145

  7. These figures maybe applicable to the old Prius, but our cars have the newer CVT gearbox (3rd gen I believe) and when the ICE rpm is zero, the MG1 rpm is around minus the MG2 rpm and not 2.6 times the minus figure. For more info, watch this video: Toyota hybrid CVT info. Check out the other videos from WeberAuto - lots of good info on EVs and hybrids.

  8. Oh my word that app (Hybrid Assistant and the accompanying Hybrid Assistant Reporter) is awesome! As if that is free as well. The reports generated are really impressive. You'd pay £1000s for that if were made by ETAS or Dewesoft for example. That's my new favourite thing. All the guys scoffed at the car when I turned up in it but once they see that the engineer in them is going to be impressed. Tyres on Monday, hopefully gets rid of the slight off centre on the steering (winter tyre on left, summer on right). New cabin filter fitted In to the dealer on Tuesday for AC. Fingers crossed it's just playing up because someone hasn't gassed the system right. Will update when done.

  9. Car air conditioning never ceases to amuse. Refrigeration technicians are highly, trained, skilled, knowledgeable and qualified. Qualifications are gained over a period of approximately 3 years minimum. Knowledge takes a while longer to accumulate. Garages in the most part, cant afford to employ air conditioning technicians. So to put it simply, why don't you ask the bloke next door if he wouldnt mind asking his youngest to wipe a cloth over the vents and give the ac a once over? Change the pollen filter, clean out the vents, run the unit on recirc only for the shortest possible periods and once or twice a year scald the entire system with air which is hotter than 60 degrees for about 15 minutes. EASY to do on a hot summers day with the ac turned onto maximum heat medium fan speed on a long run during which the engine is at its full working temperature. (Motorways are good for this.)Dont forget to wind the windows down so that the heat escapes and the system carries on trying to throw heat through the ductwork and coils. You then ensure that you kill the bacteria which makes everything stink. Keep the drain clean and clear, blow out the coil and kill bacteria by temperature and not disinfectant. Adding, topping up or routinely replacing refrigerant isnt necessary. Changing refrigerant is only necessary when there has been a leak. All refrigerant leaks have to be degassed, repaired and proven prior to reintroducing refrigerant. Most refrigerant leaks are very hard to detect. They do sell dyes which glow under an ultraviolet lamp however, what they don't tell you is that these dyes will only work if the leak is big enough to let the ultraviolet sensitive element of the dye to escape ; in many cases the molecular size of the escaping gas component is smaller than the dye molecule size and so the gas escapes whilst the dye doesn't. It makes everyone think that the problem went away until the ac stops cooling again. And guess what! you didn't just pay a semiskilled, barely trained, charlatan £165 to be fed a line or two. Recent developments show the motor industry trying to protect its own by introducing "special" refrigerants so that you have to entrust your vehicle to someone who just got back from a fortnights course. Sorry to say, this doesn't make them right ; a properly trained refrigeration technician knows how to handle and is qualified to manage any type of refrigerant from propane to carbon dioxide to ammonia ( I kid you not) and many , many more. A lot of people refer to air conditioning as "air con" some of them think they are being a bit savvy, Nicholas Cage fans and err ...cool. However I think that they are unwittingly being extremely accurate; a lot of the air conditioning trade is "air CON"

  10. There are plenty of pics/video of the USA's 2019 Corolla's interior & apart from LHD/RHD I imagine that they will be similar (infotainment may very well be different systems though). e.g. https://www.toyota.com/corollahatchback/photo-gallery/interior

  12. Believe the 2019 Toyota Auris will be launched in Europe in the first quarter of 2019. Moved to the Auris club. Please edit your profile as it isn't clear whether you have an Auris, a Yaris or both.
