  1. Very nice! Not in Worcester by any chance? Looks familiar. Picked up mine last week, the red really pops in the sun (when it's out!). Was really pleased with the full leather seats too. Happy days.

  3. Just gone to view my new Corolla 2.0ltr Hybrid Touring Excel. it has apple car play, electric tailgate and to my surprise now full leather seats! Look very smart. has the chrome add on bits on front bumper, sides and top of rear bumper. looks great in solid black imho 🙂 hope you don’t mind me sharing, as I was looking for photos before ordering I struggled to find many of UK spec.

  4. Looks really smart! Enjoy. I think I would have gone for the TS. It does not really look like an Estate (I had a Sierra Estate once, hated it!). Even though I test drove the HB, it was the 1.8, and I did not appreciate how little boot space would be in the 2.0, due to the 12 volt battery in the boot and bigger HB battery. The HB is described as a mid size family car, but so was my old SAAB, and the SAAB 93 was massive inside compared to the Corolla!. It is fine for me really, as I am single, but when I went to Devon for Christmas, even with the back seats down, the car was full, no room for a passenger. The TS gives that extra space when you need it. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

  6. Oh and yeah from Worcester. Didn’t care for waiting out for a 20 plate, won’t sell it, just run it until it dies or I can’t fix it anymore lol

  7. Tbh, all the colour choices where terrible, wanted a gun metal grey or a dark blue. We originally ordered in red but when we saw it in person didn’t like it at all, looked super bright in the sun and dull as hell in normal uk weather lol so black was the “whatever” colour lol first time i’ve ordered a black car. But looks ok in the end, luckily I don’t have to look at it while driving it...

  9. I never got to see the factory price on the washing machine I bought a couple years ago either. Come to think of it, not a breakdown on the price of the last new house I bought.

  10. I would love to go hybrid but the cars cost a lot more secondhand, plus the added cost of securing the catalytic converter from theft. I would be putting some under floor shielding. Guessing the OP budget and usage, I think the diesel will suit his needs. That's coming from a petrol owner.

  12. Hi, In NL, mats are included in the co-called "Delivery costs". That includes among other things, €50 of petrol, cleaning and polishing of the car, registration, final inspection, recycling fee, and mats. And yes, they are very fine mats embroidered with "RAV4 Hybrid". In fact they are so nice, that I have them covered with a rubber mat, at least during the winter period. To protect them after having been through not-so-nice terrain. 😒

  13. I'd be inclined to drill a couple of tiny holes through the plastic on both sides of each break, and then stitch them together with fine steel wire. You have bags of space, and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes, and it won't ever break. Epoxy would be a good reinforcement, though. Make sure it's all scrupulously clean.

  14. The OP's calculation is wrong - 29 litres over 326 miles gives a fuel consumption of just over 51mpg (Imperial galllons). I suspect he has used the US gallon, which is smaller than the Imperial gallon.

  15. That's 52mpg... You'll never get book figures from a 2016 car, they were tested in a lab, not the real world. The EU belatedly worked this out after the VW fiasco and mandated real world testing for new cars so the numbers are now pretty accurate.

  16. I would be more concerned with the oil consumption. If it is burning oil that badly then the sensors are correct in reporting a fault. To me it sounds as if either the valve seals or piston rings are badly worn, but you NEED to get this checked out properly. After the oil problem is squared away then see if the fault clears.

  17. I will be interested in how the larger brakes work, and if it is a very simple switch, so please keep us posted MartinBrynildsen!

  18. It won't fit in your tray, but Home Bargains usually have a telescopic wheel wrench and 1 reversible socket (1/2" square drive) for £4.99. I've not used that specific one, but as a tool in general they are excellent. I don't know what the socket sizes are that it covers, though.

  19. Hi All I'm a newbie to this forum but have a new Camry Excel - I had been looking for a new car and had considered a new RAV4, a Lexus ES and a Camry - our Lexus and Toyota dealers are about 200 yards apart so could compare the ES and Camry very easily - to my mind there was little difference between the two apart from a £10K price tag. So I have had it for around 10 days now and done about 1000 miles in it and I’m really pleased with it - mpg is averaging 48 tank to tank, and it’s a really nice drive. OK it’s no sports car but it’s plenty quick enough and really puts you back in your seat when you accelerate and only starts to understeer at the extreme and will spin it’s wheels on lock due to the electric motor torque. The fit and finish are fantastic- OK there are some hard plastics but otherwise it’s as good as most and better than many for the price with excellent paint finish. The infotainment is not as poor as most reviewers pan it for - it links well with my iPhone and it’s a good sounding system and the DAB drops out far less than most other cars I’ve had. I would recommend it to anyone....

  20. Illuminated mirror switch: David has worked his magic on this one. With some serious Googling, I sourced two of the correctly sized illuminated mirror switches (one for each of us), and David fixed the complicated wiring. It's technologically beyond me but it looks fantastic! Thanks, David, for your perseverance. It looks and operates like it was fitted at the factory. Chris

  21. I see 'cruise' is available on the Verso S where it is still sold today, I wonder if it could be retro-fitted without too much trouble and expense to a 2 year old UK example? Little point in asking the dealership as when presented with a 'off piste' question, Toyota emporiums, like all other franchises, follow the same mantra, 'just say no'!
